About Me

As a long time and dedicated member/business owner in our community with a deep interest in supporting the success of all students, I am eager to contribute my time, experience, and perspective to the important work of the Board of Education.

I bring to this role years of experience volunteering in our local childcares and schools. I approach each position held with creativity, care and energy, whether it be reading with students at Fraser Valley Elementary, serving as Board President of the FVE PAC and Grand Kids Board Member or helping to plan the MPHS Post Prom.

I am particularly interested in student achievement and supporting teachers. Both of my children have received Accommodations at FVE and MPHS and through these experiences, I have come to truly value the importance of parent advocacy in a child’s academic and emotional health.

Having lived, worked and raised a family in Grand County the last 24 years, I understand the unique strengths and challenges facing our school district. I believe in the importance of collaborative decision-making, transparency, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity for success.

I would be honored by your vote to help me serve our community in this meaningful capacity. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Why do I want to serve on the Board of Education?

Since announcing my candidacy, the question I get asked the most is, “Why did you wait until your kids graduated to run for school board?”

The answer is simple: I now feel that I have the time and energy to commit to this important and demanding role. I believe that a strong public school system is the backbone of a prosperous and collaborative community, especially in a rural one like ours. A well-run, innovative and adaptable School District is necessary for community growth and success and I want to do my part, not just for the teachers and the students and their families, but for East Grand School District as a whole.
